About us
At Little Sprouts of Roanoke, our daily schedule is designed to nurture your child's growth and development. We begin with guided play in our carefully curated playroom, emphasizing imaginary play, sensorial exploration, fine motor skills, and Montessori-inspired activities. Developmentally appropriate lessons are integrated into this playtime. To keep your child engaged and excited, playroom materials are rotated regularly.
Our daily rhythm
Following guided play, we gather for circle time, where we sing songs, discuss the weather, review the date, and introduce basic Spanish and sign language, along with a weekly lesson. Our lessons cover diverse topics, from number and letter recognition to exploring different animals and learning about courtesy and kindness. A whole food snack is available during both the morning and afternoon play cycle.
We venture outside in all safe weather conditions. Summer activities include planting seeds, harvesting vegetables, and playing in the sprinkler. Our outdoor space features a large playset, sandbox, sensory and water tables. Following outdoor play, we enjoy a community lunch provided by parents, followed by rest time.
Following rest, we play outside or have a second play cycle in the playroom.
Our goal is to create a safe and loving space where children can independently explore developmentally appropriate activities. We strive to foster autonomy and independence, preparing them for future educational settings, while also focusing on academic skills. We are committed to building individual relationships with each child, tailoring our care to their unique needs to ensure they feel safe, loved, and nurtured.
